My girlfriend surprised me with a little trip to Bork Havn in Denmark and booked a nice house for the last weekend. Bork Havn is located at the southern end of the Ringkøbing Fjord. The forecast didn’t look well, but I took all my kitegear with me. We drove there on friday evening and arrived around midnight.
On saturday it was cold and rainy the whole day. Also there was no wind at all. On sunday it stopped to rain and the wind picked up, enough for my 11m well powered. Of course it was a lot colder there than at home, but I decided to go kiting in Hvide Sande, a well known spot for waves. It was only a 20 minutes drive to get to the beach. The air was about 5°C and the water was about 1°C. The waves were not as clean as the past times I had been there, but there were flat sections between them to do some tricks. My girlfriend took a lot of pictures, so have a look on them below the text.
After that session we went to the house to have a meal. Later on I decided to have another session. This time we went to the Fjord in Bork Havn right in front of our house. You can stand there everywhere, which is good for training. Getting into a wet wetsuit in winter isn’t fun but necessary for a second session.
